Email Explaining How Gang Xu Filed His Motion to Challenge the Discovery Master the Way It Was

  • On 03/03/2017, Gang Xu went to the court to contest the Discovery Master Report. He ended up filing a simple motion without specifying his disagreement, as advised by court staffers.
  • On 03/06/2017, ex-wife’s attorney complained to Judge Maureen Monks’ secretary and Discovery Master that the motion contained no specific material.
  • On 03/06/2017, Gang Xu replied and explained that the court denied his earlier version of the motion that contained all the elements expected. (Typos in the underlined part of the email: dates should be 03/02/2017 and 03/03/2017, respectively.)
  • In the 03/13/2017 hearing, Judge Maureen Monks marked “Defendant has withdrawn his objection” on the motion, despite she knew Gang Xu disagreed.
